Which platforms should you choose?

The first thing to identify are the platforms that you should have your brand on. How do you do this? Well, start thinking about your ideal customer. Who is he/her? What do they do? What kind of content should you use?

The next question when starting your social media marketing activity is what kind of content would work? Well, there are a couple of things that you can use in this. 1) Google Trends: go to trends.google.com, select your region and industry and see what people are interested in these days. This would give you a solid idea about what to post on your social media profiles. 2) Industry Research: Check what other people in your industry are doing, what kind of topics are they covering? That could give you a good inspiration about what to create for your audience.

Paid Push

The third thing to do is to understand the fact that organic is now almost dead. Yes, you read that right. Reaching people organically, specially on a new page/profile is almost impossible. So, no matter how good or relevant your content is, if it is not reaching the right kind of people through a paid push, it won’t really do a lot. So, no matter how small, but at least have a paid push attached to your social media marketing activity.
